Molly (she/her) is excited to bring her experiences from the classroom and other learning institutions to help showcase the amazing things we do at Spur across the state of Colorado! Born and raised in Maryland, Molly experienced the value of informal learning from an early age and has carried those values with her through her career. By utilizing experiences through informal learning organizations, she learned that interacting with the content and kinesthetic learning were integral to her learning and understanding of information. Hands-on, experiential learning is at the core of her educational philosophy, and she hopes to bring that spirit to the Spur team!
She pursued her interest in the human body’s structure and function at Miami University studying kinesiology and health. She began her career in education teaching students with learning disabilities in Washington DC, then moved to Colorado to receive her Secondary Science Teaching license, as well as her masters in special education through the University of Northern Colorado. After educating for 8 years, she decided to apply her work with virtual programs to the promotion of science education to learners, no matter where they are located!
