What is the National Western Center?

The National Western Center is a year-round urban hub for food and ag discovery — in the heart of the American West. Partners at City and County of Denver, the Western Stock Show Association, and Colorado State University came together to create a global destination for agriculture, food, education, and entertainment.

Construction of the dynamic, 250-acre National Western Center in Denver is underway now. When complete, people from all walks of life will convene on the campus and online to lead, inspire, create, educate, and entertain in pursuit of global food solutions.

The campus is home to CSU Spur and continues to host the annual National Western Stock Show but will also be a year-round destination for world class events!

An urban hub for food and ag discovery

The construction of more than 2.2 million square feet of new indoor and outdoor spaces is underway now, designed to host innovation and research labs, farmers markets, international conferences, outdoor festivals, and everything in between.

Under construction now is a new ~350,000 sq. ft. Livestock Center, which will be the campus’s most versatile building and will provide year-round space that will support the annual Stock Show and a wide variety of activities, such as: community events, sporting events, graduations, concerts, livestock auctions, trade shows, banquets, and other uses.

CSU Spur is part of the broader National Western Center campus.
