Incubation and acceleration
The Ag Innovation Center incubates and accelerates agtech companies that provide nutrition security and climate resilience to our local and global foodwebs. We do this by providing our agtech entrepreneurs with connections to Colorado farmers and ranchers, discovery and scaling capital, lab and desk space, community events, and business model support.
Agriculture is infrastructure upon which we all rely; we cannot engage in commerce, build relationships, create art, go to school, or scale the next disruptive tech startup without nutrient-dense food to fuel us.
- As the climate changes, the basic inputs that make this infrastructure efficient enough to support the nutritional needs of our people are changing: the sunlight, water, and temperature our most productive ag regions receive are becoming increasingly unpredictable. These changes are disrupting seed germination, snowmelt that becomes irrigation water, harvest dates, the health of our animals, and more.
Disruptive changes require innovative solutions
Innovative solutions can only come from deep collaboration between those who feel the pain of the disruption most acutely, our farmers and ranchers, and the entrepreneurs who can bring new technologies to bear to solve these problems.
Our mission at the Ag Innovation Center is to build on our land grant mission to ensure this deep collaboration.
Our vision is to provide meaningful solutions to enable regenerative, water-limited agriculture across our state.
