Where art meets science and history connects to what’s new

The Shop – which was built in 1930 and served several uses, including its most recent as an auto mechanic – is part of the Hydro building but offers a unique space that brings together water nonprofits and educational organizations under the same roof and is also home to seven artist studios where the public can watch artists at work.

Water Education Colorado is the leading organization for informing and engaging Coloradans on water. Founded as an independent, nonpartisan nonprofit in 2002, WEco works statewide to provide policy-neutral news and informational resources, engaging learning experiences, and empowering leadership programs.

College Track equips students from underserved communities to be the first in their family to earn a bachelor’s degree. College Track makes a 10-year commitment to each of its scholars, which begins at one of its 12 high school centers in five regions around the country, including two in Colorado — and one at CSU Spur.

The Makerspace is FREE and open to the community for drop-in hours from 12-5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and is equipped with 3D printers, laser cutters, sewing machines, vacuum formers, and other tools to help bring any project to life. Staff from CSU’s Nancy Richardson Design Center is on-site to help teach new users how to use the machinery.
