Mo Walsh

Mo Walsh headshot

Education Staff and Volunteer Coordinator

Mo Walsh (she/her) is excited to create and implement educational programming for CSU Spur as an education coordinator. She is passionate about immersive, accessible learning experiences and is looking forward to the interactive opportunities the Spur community offers visitors.

Mo has 10 years of informal education coordination and program delivery experience at several zoos, including Denver Zoo, the Pueblo Zoo, the Blank Park Zoo, and Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. From taking an opossum to visit schools in rural Iowa, to helping guests feed lettuce to a giraffe named Dobby, she created meaningful connections between people and animals to help bring environmental learning to life. Most recently, she developed programming for the interpretive space at Denver Zoo’s new animal hospital, allowing visitors to view veterinary care in real time. She is looking forward to bringing her previous experience to the Hydro, Terra, and Vida buildings at CSU Spur.

Mo holds a Masters in Biology from Miami University in Ohio through their Project Dragonfly Advanced Inquiry Program and a Bachelor’s in Biology from Cornell College in Iowa. Mo enjoys hiking, climbing, and exploring beautiful Colorado with family and friends. She is excited to hopefully meet a fur-ever friend soon through Spur’s partnership with the Dumb Friend’s League.
