Water Education Coordinator

Stefan Karg (he/him) is stoked to help get schools and other groups from across the state connected with CSU Spur as the Water Education Coordinator. Connecting people to nature is his passion and he is excited to bring that passion to his work with schools at CSU Spur.

Being born and raised in Colorado, Stefan has been shaped and molded by our beautiful state. From a young age, he was always interested in anything to do with nature and the outdoors and has always loved talking with people about how incredible life on our planet is. He has been working in informal education for the past 12 years and has held positions in everything from horticulture to ornithology after gaining his bachelor’s degree in environmental communication and wildlife biology from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. From being a horticulturalist to a naturalist and river guide, Stefan has had many varying jobs and sharing our natural world is always at the core of his being.

He loves paddling on any water source, hiking, bird watching, gardening, reading comic books, and anything he can do with his best friend and dog, Duke.
