Part-time education facilitator
Karyn (she/her) is excited to facilitate amazing, accessible educational experiences at CSU Spur. Since she was a kid, she has wanted to help people feel as excited about science as she does.
Karyn is an educator, conservationist, and artist with fifteen years of teaching experience. She has taught kids, teenagers, adults, and seniors in various positions throughout St. Louis, Tucson, Denver, and Lyon and Paris, France. She has an MA in Biology from Miami University of Ohio in collaboration with the Denver Zoo, as well as an MA in Linguistics from the University of Arizona-Tucson. In the summer of 2025, she will begin a Graduate Certificate in Entomology program through the University of Nebraska.
She moved to Denver in 2019 with her partner, Michael, and their senior cat, Charlie. When she isn’t at CSU Spur, she enjoys writing books and zines about bugs, creating art (mostly of bugs), going for walks, drinking cold brew coffee, and playing video games.
