Hugo is excited to bring his passion for informal education to help expand Spur’s camps and youth programs. With more than a decade of experience in museums, nonprofit organizations, and government institutions, he has worked on inclusive educational programs that connect learners of all ages with meaningful, hands-on experiences.
As a bilingual (English/Spanish) educator and program specialist, Hugo has led school programs, youth camps, community partnerships, and public events while collaborating with educators, researchers, and community organizations. His experience includes coordinator roles at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, National Park Service, and the NSF NCAR EdEC Center of Excellence, where he supported education, workforce development, and cross-institutional initiatives.
Hugo is passionate about expanding access to education and creating engaging learning experiences that strengthen communities. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, going on hikes, fishing, learning about nature, and cheering them on at their soccer games!
