This FAQ provides a high-level overview of CSU Spur operations during the National Western Stock Show (Jan. 10–25, 2026). For program-specific questions, please contact [email protected].

CSU Spur is located within the Stock Show grounds during the 16 days of the National Western Stock Show, marking an exciting next step in a longstanding partnership with the National Western Stock Show. Visitors can explore all CSU Spur offers without leaving the heart of the main event. To ensure pedestrian safety and improve accessibility, the intersections near CSU Spur will be closed to vehicle traffic during the Stock Show.

CSU Spur employees, volunteers, and students can show their CSU RamCard or a CSU Visitor badge at the badge gate between Terra and Hydro or the ticket gate between Terra and the Livestock Exchange Building (green stars on this map). Visitors with Stock Show tickets will enter the ticket entry gate between the Terra and the Livestock Exchange Building.

Of note: CSU Spur will be open to Stock Show attendees from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day during Stock Show, Jan. 10-25.

Clients with appointments at Humane Colorado or the Temple Grandin Equine Center must arrive on campus from the north via Franklin Street and enter at the intersection of Race Court and National Western Drive. There will be a parking attendant shed to show the parking pass for your appointment. Clients will proceed south on National Western Drive to the Vida building patient parking lot. There are 12 additional drop-off and pick-up spots along National Western Drive and Bettie Cram Drive which are reserved for patient drop-off and pick-up. View the map.

Humane Colorado and Temple Grandin Equine Center staff will issue vehicle passes for clients. The Stock Show will begin enforcement on Jan. 7.

Parking is limited during the Stock Show. The parking lot north of Vida, where CSU Spur employees and community park regularly, will NOT be available during the Stock Show. Spur encourages alternative forms of transportation and carpooling for the duration of the Stock Show.

CSU Spur has 160 spots allocated for the Spur community to the south of CSU Spur along National Western Drive in the CUP North and South lots. This parking is first-come, first-served and fills up quickly, and will begin on Jan. 5, 2026. Please ensure that vehicles are parked straight head-in or rear-in (not angled or parallel) to the ropes, and do so with consideration for others by leaving adequate space. Thank you for thinking of your colleagues when parking your vehicle.

  • CUP North: Spur has the spots within the cones/fencing which extends from the end of the painted lines of the LEB lot to the CUP building. These spots are a mixture of pavement and gravel.
  • CUP South: Spur has the spots within the cones/fencing on the darker gravel surface; the lighter shaded gravel next to the CUP is not Spur parking. There is a center cone/fence line in the middle of the lot to designate multiple rows of parking and this can be parked straight in to the rope – similar to the exterior cone/fence line. Safety Note: Vehicles are not allowed to park on the ends of the center lot cone/fence line to allow for fire egress.

The Vida parking lot is reserved for Humane Colorado and Temple Grandin clients ONLY.

Parking information for Stock Show events can be found on the Stock Show parking page. For large events, it is recommended to park at Coors Field and take the shuttle which runs every 15 minutes. The shuttles start at 8 a.m. and run until one hour after the last rodeo.

Congestion is expected; allow additional time for driving.

A valid 2026 CSU Spur parking hang tag or specialty vehicle pass will be required to park in the Spur parking lots for the duration of the Stock Show. Parking hang tags will be distributed by the Spur operations team prior to Jan. 5, 2026. Specialty vehicle passes will be distributed via email to designated contact representatives.
