Water TAP: Technology Acceleration Platform
Impact Statement: The first of its kind, this cutting-edge facility is a platform for testing new water treatment technologies on different water sources to study the best ways we can clean and reuse water.
Description: We use and reuse water for many things. There are different standards for water quality based on how the water will be used. Drinking water, for example, needs to be much cleaner than the water used to flush our toilets.
In this lab, researchers test different water sources (like rainwater from rooftops and greywater from showers and sinks) with a variety of advanced water treatment technologies. Here, researchers can find the best treatment method to match how the treated water will be used.

ALTERNATIVE WATER SOURCES
- Rain/Stormwater
- Groundwater
- Wastewater
- Recycled Water
- Drinking Water
