Fall Apple Butter and Applesauce Preservation Workshop (free registration)
Join us for an apple butter and applesauce workshop led by senior food scientist Caitlin Clark. This hands-on workshop will take place in the Ardent Mills Teaching Kitchen at CSU Spur’s Terra building. Participants will learn how to convert fresh apples into shelf-stable apple butter and applesauce using appropriate preservation techniques. Caitlin will guide attendees through the whole process, from cleaning and preparing the fruit to proper canning methods for long-term storage. You’ll learn about the chemistry of making safe and high-quality fruit preserves, and you’ll leave the workshop with a jar of apple butter and applesauce made by you to eat at home or share during the holidays.
